While the statue itself is closed until mid-2012, the experience is not to be missed.

After a close encounter with Lady Liberty, you’ll ferry directly to Ellis Island to view history through the same eyes as immigrants at the root of almost half the American population today. NOTE: As of Oct. 29, 2011, all interior portions of the Statue of Liberty have been temporarily closed to the public to allow for the installation of extra safety features. The renovations are expected to last approximately one year, and therefore, entrance inside the statue will not be included in the tour until renovations are complete.
