Lonely Planet review for Red Eye Grill

A grungy bar in the Warehouse District for those 21 years and up, the Red Eye is strictly for greasy burgers and fries. It’s convenient if you’re seeing a show at one of the nearby clubs.

Avoid at all costs! Dangerous, Hidden Fees, Poor Management!

    ReedBenson does not recommend this,

I went to this bar, ordered 3 budweiser beers for my friends. Later, my debit card is denied at a coffee shop. It turns out, those THREE BEERS COST ME $75!!! All of my spending money was frozen up because this shitty dive bar.I called the bar about the $75 beers and they just yelled at me!! "What do you NOT underSTAND?!"

Furthermore, the Red Eye Grill is in a really bad part of town. The street is poorly lit, there are street walkers on the corner, and it's not really walking distance from anything. One of my friends got robbed on the way back to his car, and THERE WAS A DOUBLE MURDER NOT FAR FROM HERE RECENTLY. Just do a google maps search of the area--it's not good.

All in all, just avoid this bar at all costs (those costs being about 25$ a beer). I tell all my friends the same thing. If you are on your way to the republic next door and are thinking about stopping in here for a quick beer and a bite to eat, DONT DO IT. The beers at the venue are only like 8 dollars a pop--a 60% discount!

Good for: Nothing, getting ripped off, Getting robbed, Getting murdered, Seedy, Banking troubles, Hidden fees, Hidden costs, $75 beer

Not good for: fun, Anything, everything
