Bacchanal
One of the best wine and cheese selections in New Orleans sits just across the water from the Lower 9th Ward. Let the folks behind the counter prep your fromage into a work of art, which is devoured in a backyard of overgrown garden green scattered with rusted-out lawn chairs and tatty foldouts. On chef Sundays, cooks from around the city are invited to guest-star in Bacchanal's kitchen and let loose with whatever their talented hearts desire.

Delachaise
You gotta love Delachaise’s cheese menu – the pictograms that explain ‘stinky’, ‘strong’ etc are very cute. Small plates are wonderful in their own indulgent way, especially the ridiculously over-the-top grilled cheese sandwich, which is apparently assembled from truffled bread and foie gras–infused cheese (that’s a joke, but the thing really does taste that rich).
