Lonely Planet review for Stein’s Deli

Stein’s is more of a center for the city’s Jewish population than any one synagogue. If lunch, for you, rests on quality sandwiches, cheese and cold cuts, this is as good as New Orleans gets. Owner Dan Stein is a fanatic about keeping his deli stocked with great Italian and Jewish meats and cheeses and some very fine boutique beers: the man even hosts his own beer-brewing classes.
