If you need to eat right in the Quarter for under $20 a head, Coop's is as good as it gets. Coop's is a Cajun country shack, hipstered up - try the rabbit and sausage jambalaya for a taste of Cajun heaven.

    Great travelers meeting place!

    It may be dark and dingy inside, but the food is pure New Oreans. The crawfish tasso pasta rivals some of the big names in the Crescent City, you can get almost any type of seafood fried, and the salads are huge! Prices are good, too.

    It's a great place to meet up with other travelers as the seating is mostly "picnic table" style. Backpackers as well as convention-goers have discovered this hidden hole-in-the-wall on Decatur Street (next door to Molly's on the Market).
