Riverbend's pride and joy - its pressed-tin ceiling and close atmosphere get especially heated late. Rebirth Brass Band plays Tuesdays.

You can choose to work up a sweat on the small dance floor directly in front of the stage or to relax at the bar in the next room. There's also a nice back patio on which to cool your heels.

The crowd is a healthy mix of college students, tourists and music lovers of all stripes. Scenes from the film Angel Heart , in which the late, great blues man Brownie McGhee starred, were shot here, and a pair of live albums by the incomparable pianist James Booker were recorded here too.
