Getting there & around

The Kennebunks lie halfway between Portsmouth, NH, and Portland, ME (28 miles from each city), just off I-95 on ME 9. Ogunquit is 11 miles to the southwest.

The Intown Trolley (207-967-3686; www.intowntrolley.com; Ocean Ave; one-day pass adult/child $13/6; hourly 10am-5pm Jul & Aug, 10am-4pm spring & fall) circulates through Kennebunkport, with stops at Gooch’s Beach, Middle Beach and Mother’s Beach. You can ride the entire route on a 45-minute narrated tour, or hop on and off at designated stops, including along Ocean Ave.
