This tiny place has only three rooms, which are decorated with canopy beds and other period furnishings. The most romantic room is the Honeymoon Suite, fully equipped with a Jacuzzi.

Thirty-three rooms are located in three different historic houses including the Captain West House, a large brick sea captain’s home from 1834.
Clipper Ship Inn
If you prefer anonymity over homey ambiance, this red-brick motel is an excellent option. Crisp, clean rooms and efficient service make it a comfortable place to lay your head, even if it’s not in a historic home. Breakfast not included.
Coach House Inn
This beautiful 1870 Victorian mansion was once the home of a successful sea captain. Now it contains 11 guest rooms, each with a private bath, a four-poster bed and other period details.
Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites
This newish property has a prime location overlooking Pickering Wharf and Salem Harbor. Eighty-six spacious rooms (some of them suites) have graceful decor and all the expected amenities, but breakfast is not included.
Stephen Daniels House
Two blocks north of the waterfront, this must be Salem’s oldest lodging, with parts dating from 1667 – before the witch trials. It is appropriate – in this spooky town – that such an old house be haunted.
Amelia Payson Guest House
This Greek Revival home is decorated with a lot of floral wallpaper, Oriental rugs, rich drapes and ornamental fixtures. It’s just steps from Salem Common.
Stepping Stone Inn
Just off Salem Common, this restored house was built for naval officer Benjamin True in 1846. The eight unique rooms are simply decorated, but they have hardwood floors and some have four-post beds.
Hawthorne Hotel
This historic Federalist-style hotel is at the very heart of Salem’s center. For years it was the only full-service hotel, with 89 double rooms, a fancy (if staid) restaurant and a cozy pub.
