Getting there & around
By car, interstates connect Hartford to Boston (102 miles), New Haven (36 miles), New York (117 miles) and Providence (71 miles). The cheapest downtown parking is at the Morgan St Garage (cnr Talcott & Market Sts).
The city bus service, Connecticut Transit (860-525-9181; www.cttransit.com), can shuttle you from the airport to downtown Hartford for $1.10 on its Bradley Flyer.
By train, Amtrak (800-872-7245) connects Hartford to New York and Boston.
In Hartford, centrally located Union Station (860-247-5329; 1 Union Pl), at Spruce St, is the city’s transportation center and the place to catch trains, airport shuttles, intercity buses and taxis.
