Travelers Tower information
The best views of the city and the Connecticut River can be found on the observation deck of the 34-story Travelers Tower, named after its tenant, the Travelers Insurance Company. When it was built, in 1919, the tower was the tallest in New England and the seventh tallest in the United States. To reach the observation deck, you have to climb 70 steps along a spiral staircase from the elevator to the deck.
