Raised in an Iowa farm family, chef Dan Smith was a pioneer of the farm-to-table movement in the Berkshires. His restaurant turns out a fine Italian–New American menu featuring Lila's delicious lamb and other items from nearby farms. The setting, a rustic 19th-century farmhouse overlooking a garden, makes a perfect match for the menu. Al fresco seating in summer, fireplace in winter.
The $35 prix fixe specials (available Sunday to Thursday) offer three-courses, each highlighting an ingredient from a featured local farm.
