Getting there & away
Driving west on MA 2 from Boston or Cambridge, it’s some 20 miles to Concord. Coming from Lexington, follow signs from Lexington Green to Concord and Battle Rd, the route taken by the British troops on April 19, 1775.
MBTA commuter rail (617-722-3200, 800-392-6100; www.mbta.com; Concord Depot, 90 Thoreau St) trains run between Boston’s North Station and Concord Depot eight times a day ($6.50, 40 minutes) in either direction on the Fitchburg/South Acton line.
Concord Trailways (www.concordtrailways.com) has a frequent daily service from the Trailways Transportation Center (603-228-3300, 800-639-3317; 30 Stickney Ave, I-93 exit 14) to Manchester ($5, 30 minutes) and Boston ($13.50, 1½ hours).
