Introducing Wynn & Encore
Instead of an exploding volcano or an Eiffel Tower to lure people in, casino impresario Steve Wynn's eponymous resort is all about exclusivity – step inside and scoff at the hoi polloi flooding the Strip, secure in your lavish retreat. Wynn Las Vegas stands on the former site of the vintage Desert Inn, which was imploded in 2000 to make way for this curvaceous, copper-toned casino hotel. Elements of both of the casino mogul's former projects peek through here. Wynn sports the decor of Bellagio, but with more vibrant colors and inlaid flower mosaics, and the lush greenery and waterfalls recall the Mirage. The slightly newer Encore feels like a slice of the French Riviera in Las Vegas. Filled with indoor flower gardens, a butterfly motif and a dramatically luxe casino with scarlet chandeliers, it's an oasis of bright beauty.
