Getting there & around
Nashville International Airport (BNA; 615-275-1675; www.flynashville.com), 8 miles east of town, is not a major air hub. MTA bus 18 links the airport and downtown; the Gray Line Airport Express (615-275-1180; www.graylinenashville.com; one way/return $12/18; 5am-11pm) serves major downtown and West End hotels. Taxis charge a flat rate of $22 each way. Try Nashville Cab (615-242-7070) or American Music City Cab (615-742-3030).
Greyhound (615-255-3556; 200 8th Ave S) has frequent buses to Memphis ($36.50, four hours), Atlanta, GA ($45.50, five hours), Birmingham, AL ($37.50, four hours) and New Orleans, LA ($59.50, 14 hours).
The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA; 615-862-5950; www.nashvillemta.org; Transit Mall, cnr Deaderick St & 4th Ave N; adult $1.25) operates city bus services based downtown. Its express buses also go to Music Valley and back.
