Lonely Planet review

It's not the most convenient location, but the Maxwell works hard to bring a little flavor to its rooms, at prices significantly lower than downtown hotels of the same caliber.

Though the Millennium Maxwell is an international chain, it makes a big effort to add local color to its Nashville hotel. All guests receive a complimentary made-in-Nashville 'Goo Goo' cluster candy bar upon arrival and rooms are adorned with prints from the venerable Hatch Show Prints downtown. Decor is contemporary elegant, with black-and-tan color schemes and fluffy snow white duvets. Sunbathers will appreciate the relatively remote location when lounging beside the pool, which is blessedly protected from noise and car exhaust. There is free wireless Internet, a business center, and the TV-filled Maxwell's Sports Bar.
