Fairchild Tropical Garden
If you need to escape Miami drivers, consider a green day in the country’s largest tropical botanical garden. A butterfly grove, jungle biospheres, and gentle vistas of marsh and Keys habitats, plus frequent art installations from folks like Roy Lichtenstein, are all relaxingly stunning. In addition to easy-to-follow self-guided walking tours, a (perhaps overly long) free 40-minute tram tours the entire park on the hour from 10am to 3pm.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden
For contemplation space, head to this botanical garden; a secret garden in the city. This lush but little-known 4.5 acres of plantings is operated by the Miami Beach Garden Conservancy, and is an oasis of palm trees, flowering hibiscus trees and glassy ponds.
