It's Latin music in all forms - CDs, vinyl, cassettes and even a range of instruments for you to bust out on. Staff are very helpful with those tourists who don't know their samba from their salsa.

Fye Music
FYE is sort of the Virgin Records of Miami: loud, ubiquitous and enormous. This two-story location has a café, lots of listening booths and a so-so selection of CDs, DVDs and videos that leans toward the mainstream.

Sweat Records
Sweat's almost a stereotype of the indie record store: it serves organic coffee, it's got big purple couches, it sells weird Japanese toys and there are skinny guys with thick glasses arguing over LPs you've never heard of. It feels a little out of place in hip-hop-y Latin Miami, but we're glad someone's waving the indie flag in this town.

Uncle Sam's Music
More than just a music store, this place seems to generate its own stream of hipper-than-thou skate rats and club kids. You'll see them digging through the piles of the coolest new (and used) trance, hip-hop, trance and trip-hop, as well as stickers, club wear, incense and the like.

Yesterday & Today
This being DJ-saturated Miami, Yesterday & Today has that comforting, old-school medium known as vinyl, as well as every other recorded-music format. The very helpful and knowledgeable staff specialize in '50s, '60s and '70s tunes, and even have a selection of 45s (singles).
