They lay the retro-punk on thick in the Astor lobby, glamorizing and exaggerating the Age of Transportation into a hip caricature of itself: a gigantic industrial fan blows over a ceiling studded with psychedelic 'lamp balls,' all suspended over a fanciful daydream of an old-school pilots' club. The earth-toned rooms are relaxing, and the small pool gets covered at night to make room for clubgoers who bop on the back-patio lounge.
