    BBQ Fast Food

    arestotts does not recommend this,

    Meh. If you're visiting Memphis, do not waste time or money eating at Tops, which is esssentially a fast-food restaurant, unless you're really strapped for cash. Visit a more substantial place like Central BBQ, Neely's BBQ, or Interstate BBQ for a more authentic local experience.

    While the Rendezvous is good, Tops is the kind of place where you find Memphians eating their barbecue. Take your parents to the Rendezvous, or better yet let them take you. But if you want a quick bite, some southern drawl, and some cheap barbecue, Tops is, I hate to say it, tops. A friend visited me years ago (years!) and he still has a picture that he took of the kitschy soda cups and charmingly dated interior hanging on the wall of his apartment. Oh, and yes, he still talks about his sandwich too.
