    Legitimate Local

    arestotts recommends this,

    I know there are BB King's bars in other cities, but BB King is from HERE. (Well, Indianola, MS, but here is the closest thing and we claim him as our own.) You can get a legitimate local blues experience at BB King's on Beale Street, even though it's a "chain" elsewhere. When my friends were in town from Tampa for one of their birthdays, we struck up a friendly conversation with Blind Mississippi Morris's wife, who happened to be sitting near us while he performed. She was so friendly and nice and even arranged for Blind Mississippi Morris to sing "Happy Birthday" to my friend!
