My husband & I are staying in San Francisco for a week in October. Planning to spend about 4 days in SF itself & 3 days driving around the area. Looking at maybe staying in Alameda or Oakland (airbnb)& getting public transport into SF. Is this practical or will it just be too difficult staying at one of these places?

Hi all, will be driving from Calgary, AB down to Napa, CA in July. We will be going through Seattle, down the Oregon coastline, Redwood forest, etc.

I am trying to map out a road trip with 2 kids(aged 8.5 and 6) starting from SF and exploring the national parks and places of interest in Arizona and Utah.
