This popular ski resort has a vertical drop of 2820ft, with 162 trails and glades, and 13 lifts, all set on Maine's second-highest peak (4237ft). It's accessed from ME 27 between the towns of Kingfield and Stratton (both have sleeping and eating options), or by ME 16 from Rangeley. The resort village complex also has lots of options.
With good conditions, the season generally lasts from mid-November to early May. Summer activities include chairlift rides, ziplines, hiking and golf.
