Lonely Planet review for Campanile
Occupying a spot in the city’s culinary pantheon for over 15 years, chef-owner Mark Peel knows how to turn market-fresh ingredients into beautiful dishes. For more casual dining, stop by for Thursday’s popular Grilled Cheese Night and sample one of 12 traditional and not-so-traditional sandwiches created with LA flair and Campanile care. Reservations recommended.

Top Notch Cuisine in the Miracle Mile District
mdavey83 recommends this,
The atmosphere is quite charming with large spanish tile with a vibrant fountain meeting you as you enter the enclosed courtyard.
It is adjacent to the La Brea bakery and has a very European feel to it as you can peer into the cafe/bakery next door.
The food is excellent and the chef/owner was out and about making sure everybody was having a great time. They even served us an extra appetizer to get our taste buds firing.
Tip for all those on a budget: go on Wednesdays as they have their Soup Kitchen and Liquidity Crisis food and drink specials all night long. You can a great 3 course meal for $22 and great cocktails for only $7. A great deal from a great restaurant!
