    Lonely Planet review

This '50s residential-style motel is retro without even trying, but the lobby is more glamorous than the rooms. Brad Pitt stayed here when he first arrived in Hollywood and wore a chicken suit for nearby El Pollo Loco. Janis Joplin overdosed in room 105.

Our independent authors have visited Highland Gardens Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Hollywood.
