Air

The vast majority of flights into Hawaii land at the Honolulu International Airport (HNL; 836-6413; 300 Rodgers Blvd, Honolulu; hawaii.gov/hnl), which is 6 miles west of downtown Honolulu and 9 miles west of Waikiki. It is the only commercial airport on O'ahu and serves as the hub for the main interisland air carriers with frequent services to all of the Neighbor Islands.

At the airport, you’ll find visitor information booths (836-6413) near the baggage claim, the international-arrivals area, interisland terminal, and at both ends of the main lobby. There are also car-hire counters for some rental agencies (Alamo, for example, is located off-site). A free shuttle connects several terminals of the airport. It can be picked up in front of the main lobby (on the upper level) and in front of the interisland gates.

Foreign-currency exchange counters are located in strategic sections of the airport; in the international arrivals hall, most operate between 6am to midnight. You can also find ATMs throughout the airport.

For more detailed airport information, visit www.hawaii.gov/dot/airports and navigate to the O'ahu page.
