This hip café is the place to try kava (also called 'awa in Hawaiian) drinks served in a coconut shell. Mildly intoxicating, this spicy elixir (yes, it's legal) is made from the roots of the Piper methysticum plant and was a favored ceremonial drink in old Hawaii.
