Despite the throngs of tourists filling its streets, Lahaina is surprisingly sparse on places to stay. West Maui’s resort hotels are to the north, where the beaches are better. On the other hand, Lahaina’s accommodations tend to be less crowded. Between Lahaina and Maʻalaea Harbor, to the south, are an oceanside campground and a stylish hillside B&B. Prices typically jump during the height of whale season (January and February).
