Introducing Kawaihae & Around

Kawaihae is a nondescript port town; fuel tanks and cargo containers give it an industrial vibe. It's mainly a convenient food stop, with a family beach and historic heiau (temple) toward the south. Offshore, Kawaihae is a relatively untrafficked spot for diving and snorkeling. For an insider's view of Kawaihae, see the Pacific Worlds Kawaihae site.

Hwy 270 is commonly known as the Akoni Pule Hwy.
