Lonely Planet review

From the highway it's hard to imagine the low-key tranquility that awaits, themed with a hint of neoclassical plantation style. You'll note the balmy air coming in from the open lobby upon entering, from where you can see the sparkling pools and ocean.

Off the beaten track but still a 'name brand,' the Hilton isn't easy to sum up off the bat. This spot boasts the prerequisite 'resort' amenities: beachfront access, waterfall pools and faux lagoons, restaurants, and, of course, a martini bar. Not as grand as Po'ipu's Grand Hyatt or Lihu'e's Marriott, it's still a step above the options along the Eastside's Coconut Coast. Rooms are small but well appointed and clean; some have ocean views. Though there's no wi-fi in the rooms, the lobby has a strong signal.
