Lonely Planet review
Located right along the Ke Ala Hele Makalae coastal path, this is a great spot to depart for a two-wheeled family cruise next to Kapaʻa’s turquoise blue waters. There are loads of very affordable rental options (too many to mention here), including kids bikes, Burley Carts, surfboards, snorkel gear and even spears for diving. Online reservations are available and the helpful owners will gladly point enthusiasts in the right direction for whatever adventure they seek.
There are free tennis courts and a skateboarding park , along with a field for baseball, football and soccer in Kapaʻa New Park, and a public swimming pool (822-3842; admission free; 7:30am-3:45pm Tue-Fri, 10am-4:30pm Sat, noon-4:30pm Sun) at Kapaʻa Beach Park.
