Likeke Falls Trail information
Ready for a hidden waterfall? This 2-mile round-trip trail winds through a forest of native and exotic trees up into the misty Koʻolau Range. Taking about an hour, the family-friendly hike starts from the upper end of the Koʻolau Golf Club parking lot. Enter off Kionaole Rd, just west of the Kamehameha Hwy (Hwy 83) near the H-3 Fwy junction.
Walk through the chain-link gate uphill along a paved maintenance road. Veer left before the water tank onto a well-used trail that ascends a set of wooden steps over moss-covered rocks and gnarled tree roots. This shady forest path eventually emerges onto a cobblestone road that keeps climbing. Watch for the (often muddy) side trail leading off to your right toward a hidden 20ft-high waterfall (no swimming), where the only sounds are tumbling water and tropical birdsong.
Due to the danger of flash floods, do not start this hike if rain is forecast or dark clouds are visible in the sky. Obey any 'Kapu' or 'No Trespassing' signs, as public access could be revoked at any time.
