Lonely Planet review
Facing a private beach, this luxury resort is a favorite of celebs, royalty and other rich-and-famous types who crave Kahala’s paparazzi-free seclusion. The grande dame still maintains an appealing island-style casualness: staff who have been working here for decades and guests who return every year know each other by name, and it’s that intimacy that really separates it from the Waikiki pack.
A lei greeting at check-in, Hawaiian cultural classes, rental bicycles and stand up paddling lessons are all complimentary, but overnight parking costs $25.
Our independent authors have visited The Kahala Hotel and Resort and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Kahala.
