Hilo Farmers Market information
Hilo's gathering place is its downtown farmers market, which opened in 1988 with four farmers selling from trucks. Today, the market is bustling and attracts sizable crowds. A single pass through the food tent unearths luscious mangoes and papayas but, fair warning, the produce sold here is not 100% locally grown.
If you miss Wednesday or Saturday market days, you'll still find a row of daily vendors selling produce and flowers.
