Lonely Planet review
Family-owned and operated by three generations, Uncle Billy's is a bargain. It's not fancy, but the rooms overlook a central courtyard of palms, red ginger and talkative mynah birds – or the ocean (where else can you get an ocean view for just over $100?). Expect a no-frills hotel in a terrific location.
Our independent authors have visited Uncle Billy's Hilo Bay Hotel and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Hilo.
