Hilo's best big hotel is the Hilo Hawaiian on Banyan Dr. Rooms are pleasing - neat and clean, with a standard tropical floral decor. Ocean-view rooms really deliver, and most have a private lanai. Add in expected comforts like phone, cable TV, air-conditioning and fridge, plus a freshwater pool, internet access and a decent restaurant, and you won't be disappointed.
