Local chips aren't limited to the potato. Here, savor a colorful medley of crisp, kettle-cooked kalo (taro), ulu (breadfruit) and purple and yellow sweet potato. Proprietors Aaron and Vinel Sumida buy their ingredients from local farmers and create gorgeous and addictively tasty chips by hand. They also bake an assortment of home-style cookies using Hawaiian root vegetables. Also sold in Hilo.
