  3. Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

    Tulsa's beautiful Union Station is filled with sound again, but now it's melodious as opposed to cacophonous. During the first half of the 20th century, Tulsa was at literally at the crossroads of American music with performers both homegrown and from afar. Learn about greats like Charlie Christian, Ernie Fields, Sr and Wallace Willis in detailed exhibits. For most of the year there are Sunday concerts – often featuring inductees and played in the once-segregated grand concourse at 4pm.

    The story of America's worst incident of domestic terrorism is told at this poignant museum, which avoids becoming mawkish and lets the horrible events speak for themselves. The outdoor Symbolic Memorial has 168 empty chair sculptures for each of the people killed in the attack (the 19 small ones are for the children who perished in the day-care center).
