Lonely Planet review for Cattlemen's Steakhouse
OKC's most storied restaurant, this Stockyards City institution has been feeding cowpokes and city slickers slabs of beef and lamb's fries (that's a polite way of saying gonads) since 1910. Deals are still cut at the counter and back in the luxe booths.

If you want to experience the best steak in town you've got to try this place. It has been around for years and the service and atmosphere are quite welcoming.

Great local joint
sweeneyok recommends this,
If you want to eat at a steak house that all the locals eat at, Cattleman's is the place. It can be reached by taking the OKC trolley from downtown or most of the hotels located on the trolley route on Meridian which in south of Will Roders airport. Likewise you can take the short shuttle boat up the Oklahoma River from downtown to connect up with the trolley. It's not real fancy but the food is great. What do you eat? Well, steak of course unless you are adventerous and then order some lamb fries. It's all good but leave room for the cobbler and ice cream, it's sensational. Wear you boots if ya'll got'em and you'll feel right at home.
