Lonely Planet review for Chino Latino

This shiny, spangled place is the Uptown scenester hangout. The food is Latin-Asian fusion, with novelties such as a satay bar and the large, shared pupu (Polynesian- influenced appetizer) platter.

    Cool place, but...

    pinkpoodle79 does not recommend this,

Your time and money is better spent catching a show at one of Minneapolis' many "hole-in-the-wall" bars and music venues. Chino Latino is loud and crowded, with long lines, high prices, and annoying scenesters. Good for a little more formal night on the town. Otherwise...I have to give it a thumbs down only because there are better places to go.

Good for: late night, meat market, club atmosphere

Not good for: peace and quiet, price, casual, conversations

    Cool and FunLocal Restaurant

    robynjane recommends this,

Chino Latino is situated on hip Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis- one of the best places to meet locals on a Friday night. Its uber-cool and usually busy atmosphere makes it a hit with the college students and twenty-somethings (not to mention visiting parents, as it also falls a bit on the pricey side). The food is unique and many of the menu items are designed for sharing which makes it a great place for a night out with friends.

One caveat for the savvy traveler- Chino does have some vegetarian options but they are pretty limited for an otherwise very veg-friendly city.

Good for: atmosphere, food, Budget Travellers, Groups, service, Families

Chino Latino provides an expensive but fun night out

    fishersd recommends this,

This restaurant is located in the hip Uptown area of Minneapolis. The cuisine is creative mix of dishes spanning the areas along the equator. The dishes taste fresh and healthy and utilize all the spices we may not ordinarily keep in our home kitchen. I have not been there in some time, but the Blackberry Margaritas and Cucumber Mojitos a few years ago were incredibly tasty and expensive (but well worth it!) This restaurant is perfect for a group of women as the dishes can be shared tapas-style.
