The Hall of Fame Museum has, among other things, 75 sleek racing cars (including former Indy winners) and a 226kg (500lb) Tiffany trophy. You can also take a tour of the race track. OK, so it's on a bus and, at 60 kph (37 mph), you're not even beginning to burn rubber, but it's still fun to pretend as you slowly pass by the grandstand.

Tickets are hard to come by for the big event, held each year on Memorial Day weekend in May and attended by 450,000 crazed fans. Tickets for pre-race trials and practices are more likely (and cheaper). Other races at the Speedway are the NASCAR Brickyard 400 in August and Formula One US Grand Prix in September.
