Lonely Planet review for Graeter's Ice Cream
It's a local delicacy, with scoop shops around the city. The flavors that mix in the gargantuan, chunky chocolate chips top the list.

French Pot Ice Cream in Cincinnati; Very Esoteric
goofy_footed_martian recommends this,
I realize that Cincinnati is one of those cities where most people find themselves for business reasons rather than for a holiday. I must admit however, that a few places of worthwhile interest have carried over from its ethnically German past. OK, like what? Well, like the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the May Festival Choir, the Cincinnati Zoo, Mecklenburg Garden's (restaurant) and Graeter's Ice Cream. The Graeter's recipe calls for some gargantuan copper vats, which had been particularly imported from France, thus creating the richest and creamiest ice cream that I've ever tasted, hands down. Forget the competition, this ice cream is hyper-addictive. Cones, Sundaes, Malts and Shakes! Plus, and your not going to believe this one, it's O.U. dairy kosher! The parlor atmosphere leans a bit more towards being a cafeteria than a restaurant but it's family friendly. Cakes, pies, and pastries are also sold in a separate glass display. If you find yourself in Cincinnati for some strange reason, give yourself a break and try this delicacy.
