Sweat's almost a stereotypical indie record store – there's funky art and graffiti on the walls, it has big purple couches, it sells weird Japanese toys and there are skinny guys with thick glasses arguing over LPs and EPs you've never heard of, and of course, there's coffee and vegan snacks.

Yesterday & Today
This being DJ-saturated Miami, Yesterday & Today has that comforting, old-school medium known as vinyl, as well as every other recorded-music format. The very helpful and knowledgeable staff specialize in ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s tunes, and even have a selection of 45s (singles).

Fye Music
FYE is sort of the Virgin Records of Miami: loud, ubiquitous and enormous. This two-story location has a café, listening booths and a so-so selection of CDs, DVDs and videos that leans toward the mainstream.

Do Re Mi Music Center
It’s Latin music in all forms – CDs, vinyl, cassettes and even a range of instruments for you to bust out on. Staff are very helpful with those tourists who don’t know their samba from their salsa.
