Le Cellier Steakhouse
If you love meat, this place is for you. Try the buffalo. Dark and cavernous, with stone walls and lanterns, it makes a good spot to escape the heat, but the dense sauces and decadent desserts might not be the best fuel to get you through the day. Come here if your afternoon promises nothing more than lazing by the pool, or for a hearty dinner.

Chops City Grill
Naturally, Naples dining wouldn't be complete without an upscale chophouse. Enjoy phonebook-thick steaks (with one side dish included), grilled fish and a raw bar within a dramatic, copper-columned dining room. Reserve ahead.

McGuire's Irish Pub
Promising 'feasting, imbibery and debauchery,' this barnlike spot is part restaurant, part bar, part faux Irish theme park. Animal heads deck the walls, while thousands of dollar bills adorn every other available surface. Steaks and burgers are the order of the day here – peer through a window to watch the beef aging in a special temperature-controlled room. Bring your patience – waits can top an hour – and don't expect to actually hear your dinner date. It's just east of downtown Pensacola – look for the green double-decker bus marking the spot.

Bern's Steak House
Bern's is legendary, a nationally renowned steakhouse that offers far more than a meal: dining here is an unforgettable event. The menu is an education in steaks and beef (dry-aged on the premises, naturally); sides are generous and often organic. There are dozens of caviars, and dessert is so overwhelming you relocate to a separate dining room; many reserve solely for dessert. Merely ask, and you may tour the kitchens and epic wine cellar. Jackets aren't required but won't feel out of place in this paean to old-world moneyed elegance.

Norman’s Tavern
Think Diet Forge: same great taste, less calories! Er, celebrities. Norman’s eschews bling and attitude for a sort of high-end sports-bar atmosphere; the food is fancy pub fare and everyone’s either shooting pool or watching the game.

Forge
We’ve always wanted to eat next to Paris Hilton, but when we visited Forge all we got was Hillary Clinton’s press spokesperson. That should give you an idea of the folks who eat at this Baroque temple to excess: important ones. Incidentally, the food is good, but you’re at this A-list steakhouse to either spot celebrities or feel like one.

Graziano's
People love to argue over who does the best South American steak in Miami, but among the Argentinian population the general consensus seems to be this very traditional parilla (grill), located on a strip of gas stations on Bird Rd. Everything is plucked out of Buenos Aires: the quebracho wood on the grill, the Argentinian customers and, most of all, the racks of lomo (steak), sweetbreads and blood sausage, gristly bits beloved by portenos (Buenos Aires natives), which are tough to find in more Yankee-friendly establishments.

Prime 112
Sometimes, you need a steak: well aged, juicy, marbled with the right bit of fat, served in a spot where the walls sweat testosterone, the bar serves Manhattans and the hostesses are models. Chuck the above into Miami Beach's oldest inn – the beautiful 1915 Browns Hotel – and there's Prime 112. Prime can definitely be said to attract celebrities; one night in 2008 it is rumored Enrique Iglesias, Anna Kournikova, Alonzo Mourning, LL Cool J, Mike Piazza and the King of Jordan all ate here...on the same night. On that note, don't come dressed in shorts and sandals. The steak, incidentally, is very good, although the service can leave something to be desired – some wait…
