Northeast Florida's best collection of art is housed in this beautifully appointed museum surrounded by spectacular gardens. Inside the Southern Tudor building you'll find woodcuts by Albrecht Dürer, Rubens' The Entombment of Christ , and George PA Healy's famous and untitled portrait of President Andrew Jackson when close to death.

There are also various collections of antiquities, from European furniture to Japanese inro and tonkatsu , small metal or lacquer purses for men.

The gardens, a popular spot for wedding photographers, are draped with wisteria and shaded by massive, mossy oaks - a great place to unwind after trying to absorb all the handmade beauty inside.

The house was originally constructed for Ninah May Holden Cummer (1875-1958), who, in her will, bequeathed it and her collection of more than 60 paintings to the state of Florida.
