Scarlett O'Hara's
Good luck grabbing a rocking chair: the porch of this pine building is packed all day, every day. Built in 1879, today Scarlett's serves regulation pub grub, but it's got the magic ingredients – hopping happy hour, live entertainment nightly, hardworking staff, funky bar – that draw folks like spirits to a séance.

A1A Ale Works
Sidle up to the copper bar and order a Bridge of Lions Brown Ale or A Strange Stout (named for the founder's granddad). Though it lacks the historical ambience that makes St Augustine special, the beers brewed here are spectacular.

With 50 beers on tap, 120 more in the bottle and over 75 bottles of wine, this place will appeal to even the most discriminating beer or wine snob. Great music, too.
