Chicago

Work

It is very difficult for foreigners to get legal work in the United States. Securing your own work visa without a sponsor – meaning an employer – is next to impossible. If you do have a sponsor, the sponsor should normally be able to assist you, or do all the work themselves to secure your visa. Contact your embassy or consulate for more information.

If you’re interested in doing some volunteer work while you’re in town, check out the listings on the Chicago Community Resource Network (www.chicagovolunteer.net) or look through the opportunities listed in the community section of the Craigslist message board (www.chicago.craigslist.org).
