For postmodern fun, check out the twin corncob towers of the 1964 Marina City. Bertrand Goldberg designed the futuristic high-rise, and it has become an iconic part of the Chicago skyline (check out the cover of the Wilco CD Yankee Hotel Foxtrot ). And yes, there is a marina at the towers' base.
