  1. Shining Sea Bikeway

    The 3.5-mile Shining Sea Bikeway runs along the shoreline from Falmouth center to Woods Hole, rewarding cyclists with views of Martha's Vineyard en route. Corner Cycle rents bicycles near the start of the bikeway.

  2. Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary

    Extending north from Provincetown, this is the major summer feeding ground for humpback whales, awesome creatures with a flair for acrobatically breaching out of the water. They come surprisingly close to the boats, offering great photo ops. Other whales also frequent these waters, including many of the 300 remaining North Atlantic right whales, the world's most endangered whale species.

  3. Thornton W Burgess Museum

    A treat for kids is the Thornton W Burgess Museum, named for the Sandwich native who wrote the Peter Cottontail series. Story time on the lawn, overlooking the pond featured in Burgess' works, is particularly evocative - call for times.
