Gundlach-Bundschu
Gundlach-Bundschu feels like a storybook castle, with its own lake, picnic area and hiking trails. Founded in 1858 by Bavarian immigrant, Jacob Gundlach, rieslings and gewürztraminers are its signatures, but 'Gun-Bun' was also the first winery in America to produce 100% merlot. It's up a winding road which is very picturesque for biking.

Jack London State Historic Park
Original gonzo writer Jack London spent his last years in the Valley of the Moon. His Beauty Ranch is now Jack London State Historic Park. The ruins of his dream home, Wolf House, are here, as well as the House of Happy Walls, built after his death by his widow Charmian. It's now the Jack London Museum.
