Getting there & around
Tahoe Area Rapid Transit (TART; 530-550-1212; www.laketahoetransit.com; 6:30am-6:30pm) operates buses along the northern shore as far as Incline Village, south along the western shore to Sugar Pine Point State Park and to Truckee via Hwy 89. Tickets cost $1.50 each or $3.50 for an all-day pass.
From June to early September, TART also operates the Tahoe Trolley between Tahoe City and Squaw Valley, and Tahoe City and Crystal Bay. Rides are also $1.50 each or 3.50 for an all-day pass during the day and free between 6pm and 11pm.
